Ever had a what if moment. Well that is my life… what if I kissed that guy, what if I had sex with him instead of scratching his back, what if I studied a different course, what if I kept on exercising.

Well I just had another one. What if I stayed 5 minutes longer at skinny’s place, maybe I would have avoided that car.

I woke up this morning and met up with Skinny to buy The MaternalUnit a Bday pressy. Happy Bday Mom. We then rented Beautiful People season 1&2 (brilliant sitcom) and watched it back to back (it’s only 12 episodes). I was on my way back home after dropping the DVD’s at the video shop when a girl in a Bakkie decided to make an illegal U-turn at a fork. Let me sketch the full picture. I turned left into a one way, the one way then becomes a two way street when the 2 road forks together. On the left of the Road is the is parking spaces for the Stellenbosch Info Centre.

Driving behind her I see the bakkie pulling left into the parking area and switching on her indicator to turn right to cross the painted out island. So I tried to go past the car on her right hand side. I know, not the smartest move, but legal I think and under the assumption that people who make illegal u-turns would look before they turn. As they say, assumptions are the key to all fuck-ups. Suddenly the turns and I hit the breaks. But not stopping before putting a dent in the right side of her bakkie. Here is it on a google map

So this is the third accident in 2 years that was not my fault. Hopefully this means my curse of 3′s is done with expensive car accidents. So what if I waited 5 minutes longer at Skinnie’s place? What if I just never got up this morning…
